Revision Guides

Revision guides are the perfect resource for your child to use when they start their revision. All revision guides help your child to plan their revision by providing topics in small broken up chunks, allowing for easier revision and a more efficient revision session. Using these guides will ensure that no part of the topic is missed out and will guarantee that your child understands the depth of knowledge that is required for their exams.

When looking at these guides it is essential that you understand what exams your child is taking. The first port of call is your school. They should be able to give you advise regarding which exam boards and which specification your child is following. When armed with this information you can choose the perfect guide for your child, making sure that you have the best resources for them. The school may also offer to sell or loan revision guides to pupils, but considering the relatively small expense of just a few pounds per book, many parents choose to purchase revision guides themselves. Make sure to ask the school which guides they would recommend before making your purchase.

There are a large variety of guides available and it is important that you choose the correct ones from your child. Visit either the exam board website to check for recommendations or visit high street/internet based book stores for all the latest titles. Some companies will also sell direct to parents. Don’t forget to look at the workbooks that can be found alongside many of the revision guides available. These will allow your child to practice exam questions, improve their exam technique and work at areas that they need to improve upon.
